Biography by Stephen D. Thompson
I am an adventurer of spirit. I live my life fully, always curious as to why and how things evolve in our universe. I get the most of my human experience on this planet by asking simple questions like:
Why am I here? What is my purpose in life? How can I better serve mankind? What do I want to accomplish in my life? How does my spirituality actually embrace me? And, what moral values guide me on my quest for truth?
As you can see I am a seeker of truth.
My Past: My background is rich and complete. I grew up in a simple, average family. My father was a painting contractor with a limited education, but strong, success-oriented work ethic. My mother was a homemaker who controlled the household with persuasive aggression. I also had one younger brother, who learned about life by watching me challenge every rule in the book as a youth. I did have medical complications, it seems, most of my life. Yet, it taught me to understand that physical challenges can teach many lessons in character, commitment, and tenacity.
I have several college degrees--in the areas of Psychology, Philosophy, Sociology, Western Religions, Music, and Art--which give me credibility in certain circles. My informal education has also been ongoing. I've studied Neuro-Linguistic Programming, clinical hypnosis, quantum physics, PSYCH-K, EFT, and many other healing modalities. Four years of metaphysical training was also completed. However, using my common-sense approach to life has enabled me to acheive my grandest successes.
My Personality: I think all of us fall into categories that reflect our natural strengths in life. Some are inventors, pioneers, or philosophers. I am a teacher--a purveyor of knowledge. My talent is realistically and passionately explaining what others have shown me, so the student can embrace the ideas and act on them to their satisfaction.
This strength led me to teach at the collegiate level for many years. It's also what's inspired my creation and facilitation of workshops nationwide today. All of the material--in my books, lectures and workshops--come from experiences of living life to its fullest.
My Passion: I would like to close with the business aspect of my life, which has graciously followed my numerous passions over my lifetime. I owned and operaed a large design firm from 1978 to 1990. We had over 22 employees and grossed over one million dollars annually.
During those years, I was a part of Rotary International and was honored with the Paul Harris Award. Much of my business experience also led me to serve on committees for the Boy Scouts of America.
In the early nineties, my career shifted. I opened the Personal Search and Growth wellness center in 1995. My private practice of helping others improve their lives soon expanded beyond the walls of my building and I began teaching emotional healing workshops.
Thanks to my countless hours of working with people of all kinds--including athletes, teens, corporate leaders, and those with learning disabilities--my knowledge base has grown tremendously. I have come to specialize in working with pain management, death and dying, and chronic illness.
As a whole, my life is full, enriched, and blessed. So may yours be. Sincerely, Stephen Thompson |
